The multi unit abutments for the copaSKY implant are called uni.cone abutments. These abutments offer the largest selection of multiunit abutments available for any system and are available in angulations of 0°, 17.5°, 25°, 30° and 35°. The 0° abutments are available in collar heights of 1, 2, 3 and 4 mm while the angulated abutments are available in collar heights of 1.5 mm and 2.5 mm. These options allow for an unprecedented level of flexibility in selection to address any clinical situation.
The unique design of the uni.cone abutment for the copaSKY implant sets it biomechanically apart from most other multi unit abutment systems on the market. The coping in the prosthesis and the abutment are designed to take most of the load while transmitting as little load as possible to the prosthetic screw. This results in a much lower incidence of screw fractures or screw loosening in multiple unit prostheses.
The engineering design of the uni.cone abutment has also resulted in one of the smallest multi unit abutments in the world. An abutment diameter of only 4.5 mm adds a significant amount of additional thickness to any restorative material being used and this in turn results in stronger prostheses that are less likely to fracture. The increased space also allows for greater flexibility in restorative correction without compromising material parameters.
